Joni's Front Door

0 loves
Description:

My youngest sister was diagnosed with breast cancer in October 2008. I had not spoken to her in 15 years due to a falling out. Putting my stubborness aside....In February of 2009 I got on a plane to Raleigh to reconnect with her after all this time. While staying with her and helping with her family I saw that her front door needed some privacy. We discussed options and she gave me free reign to make a glass piece for it.

Back in Minnesota I constructed the 12 individual panels of Bevel Fleur d' lis (stock # 443616) and clear water glass. The panels were shipped to Raleigh. During our second visit in July my husband, my brother-in-law and I designed, built, stained, sealed and installed the frame with the panels onto the front door.

The piece is removable. If they should ever move they can take it with them. It is a lasting reflection of the love I have for her and admiration of her courage.....along with offering some much needed privacy at the front door!
