I build wall-hanging, illuminated pieces called lightbox lanterns. I hand-paint clear architectural glass with ink and powdered metallic pigment, then solder the edges. Black patina is applied then abraded away for a vintage look. The wooden support panels are painted with oil and house the wiring and battery packs behind. This piece is 15 x 18 inches.
