This is a 3-D stained glass lighthouse. This lighthouse images are only available on a post card and a black and white picture. I used Glass Eye 2000 to create the pattern for the Lighthouse. I wired it to be a night light. The cone top is hinged to allow easy access to the light bulb for replacement purposes. The details encouraged creativity. The rail on the catwalk was metal rods that were cut and solder. The fennels were wood glued to the rail. The fennel on the top of the roof is wood and adhered with glue, dowel and a cork. The bell on the side was painted black and hung on a twisted wire. The siding was overlap just like building a house. The most challenging piece was the steps. The are made of glass and I had to create the pattern just like a carpenter would do to install stairs on a house. It took me several tries to get them level. The base is a cutting board I found with a the bark on the edges and glued a piece of glass. The dimensions of the lighthouse are 7 L x 10 W x 16.5 H. The overall piece is 16 L x 12 W x 17.5 H.
