When You're Up Between the New Skyline

This piece is inspired by one of my all-time favorite Train songs "Counting Airplanes," released in 2003 from their My Private Nation album. The full title/lyric is "When you're up between the new skyline/The city lights and the warm sunshine/It's a log way down." It is a 10 inch x 15 inch mixed-media piece using kiln-formed Wissmach glass, silk ribbons and origami paper to create a fantastical journey over an imagined skyline. It is pure art and has absolutely no practical value whatsoever, because it was created to make people smile and maybe to dream up their very own imaginary skyline.
