Iris Farmhouse Window Shutters

Description:

These are two copper foil 12x52" windows set in an oak frame, as shutters for a stairway landing window. The house is a 125-year-old farm house, so while the shutters are square, the window opening is not. As a result, the shutter on the right had to be screwed in permanently and the hinges are being modified (and added later) so the windows will look similar. (It's always something! The farmhouse is 2500 miles away from my workshop so we had to improvise.) The shutter on the left can be opened to access the window behind it. The shutters are reinforced with Re-strip between the foiling. The oak frame is screwed togther on the back side with L-braces in the corners. The iris pattern was purchased from Shutterstock and resized to fit the opening.
