"Defender"

This was a commission piece created for a friend. The panel is 28.5" wide x 18.5" tall. It has 160 pieces of glass in it. The flag and border are created using water glass. The stars (almost 50) are etched into the blue glass. The panel features a bust of an eagle surrounded by blue roses. The panel was created using the copper foil method, black patina applied to the solder and framed with 1/2 zinc came. As always the panel was meticulously cleaned and hand polished.
