Stained glass bee house

I made patterns off of plants, animals, and insects seen in my garden that i then cut and soldered into stained glass panels. 

The front panels have a squirrel, two cedar waxwings passing a berry, a honey bee hive, a hummingbird, a jumping spider, a flower fly, a larkspur flower, a snail, a gray hairstreak butterfly near zinnias, and some mushrooms growing at the base of a tree trunk with an iris in the background.

The side panel has a flame skimmer dragonfly, a ladybug, a monarch butterfly and caterpillar on a tropical milkweed, with some oleander aphids and an ant toward the bottom of the stem, among blades of grass

The other side has a lesser goldfinch on a sunflower leaf, a mantis on another leaf, and a possum at the bottom.

I hope to add a few more panels to the back, possibly with a towhee and maybe a skunk.


Each panel is hung tightly to a metal greenhouse frame using bungee cords.  A single hive of honey bees lives inside the house. The back of the house is completely open for human access to the hive. The front has an open panel to all the bees access. It has been outdoors, standing for about three years now. A couple of cracks here and there when i dismantled it to move to a new house, but it still holding together quite well
