Homage To Japan

15" h x 18" w -The lotus flower is an important iconographic symbol in Japan. I modernized the form. I fabricated complex sheets and cut shapes to refuse & cut up strips of crackle technique I created for the border. I painted details with metallics and enamels. I chose to make this a 3 part piece within one larger frame format.
