Garden View of Mt. Fuji

Description:

This is 10" x 9" x 1" and is a full fused dammed piece.  On this piece, I used all forms of glass.  The base is a Black Irid  with midnight blue/gold rainbow hue of color full fused. Step 1.  The I cut a 9" circle out of clear Tekta and used powder enamels mixed with lavender oil to give me texture for the mountain and water.  On the lake water, I sprinkled clear medium frit and rainbow Dichroic flakes.  I sprinkled med clear gold dichoric frit on the snow capped mountain and sifted powders to give a sunset lighting effect on the snow.  I then tac fused the circle section.  after I placed the circle on the background.  I cut pieces of clear tekta for the top border to try to give a dimensional effect of sky and snow falling.  I then built the landscape with Vitrigraph, flamework and murrini.  I then mixed frits to give a gravel rocky look and added slivers of petrified wood glass to create a dock leading out to the lake.   With all of the placement of the embellishments I was hoping to create a look, as if you were standing afar looking  through the garden at Mt. Fuji in the distance. Then I did a contour fuse.  Everything fired prefectly.  I chose this scene from a photo I took, from when I lived in Japan for 8 years.  I visited Mt.Fuji and Lake Kawaguchi frequently.  It is one one my favorite places in Japan all year round.  I have wonderful memories there. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
