Moraea Tulbaghensis (Peacock Iris)

This flower started with a sheet of clear glass, colored using glass powders, with enamel for the petal details. The center stamen was made with patterned dichroic glass and wavy dichroic noodles. After creating the petals and leaves they were fused together in two sections and draped separately as well. The lower section was drilled and then secured to a wood base with a wing nut. The top section and stamen were then epoxied into the center. It's my favorite flower I've made to date and I hope to make more that have this sculpted style.
