Wild, Gray-Haired Winter Goddess

I love winter - it's quiet whispers, raging winds, softly falling snow and moonlight sparkles intrigue me. My Winter Goddess was completed in 39 days, while listening to 13 audio books, for a total of 148 hours. She is three feet by nearly four feet in size and was my very first glass-on-glass mosaic. Each and every piece of glass was hand cut. The design and pattern are my own - a self portrait of me and my Angora rabbit. I learned a lot in the making of this piece, working with Van Gogh glass for the first time was a challenge but so rewarding in the end. She is featured on my living room wall now, but will move to my handbuilt greenhouse in the spring. Next winter, I will enjoy her company as I sit in my greenhouse, soaking the sunshine and her colors into my skin.
