"Leticia"

I created this portrait for a friend of mine who lives in Virgin Gorda, British Virgin Islands.  It is of his aunt who sadly passed away last year.  I had never done a portrait so I thought I would give it a go and I think it turned out beautifully (designed from a photo he sent me).  It was very challenging but I had a great time adding the "bits and pieces" in 3-D, such as the solder bead earrings on wire, the free-flowing bracelet, the glitter on her sparkling dress and the gold watch on her wrist.  It was a really fun project for me and I learned a lot about portrait creating!  My friend was thrilled with the completed piece, which I framed in wood and also had a brass plaque made to put on the bottom of the piece with "Leticia" engraved on it.
