In A Dark Mood

This 16 inch strip construction bowl was made using Oceanside 96 Glass in a limited color palette. After arranging the focal points on a piece of Papyrus paper I framed them using 3/8 inch strips. Strips were then cut and placed around the focal points in various patterns and designs.  Once completed it was placed in a kiln and full fused. After fusing a tile saw was used the trim the edges. A Lap grinder and belt sander were used to smooth and polish the edges. Finally the piece was slumped in a 16 inch ball mold.
