Dragonfly's Pond

This beautiful pendant was made first by creating the base cabachon with is various layers of glass and frit and dichroic glass that were fused into patties, sawed into strips and then fused together again to get the multi-layer, extreme depth of color and sparkle. The cabachon was created with varying sizes of cubic zirconia (cz) fused into the glass. The small dragonfly was fused separately and has tiny cz's for eyes and very thin wire for the antennae. The wings were hand etched to get the effect of real dragonfly wings. Finally, the dragonfly was carefully tack fused to the top of the cabachon with it's wings extended (they did not slump onto the base cabachon). This pendant is 3 1/2" in diameter and on a sterlin silver chain.
