Shawn’s Request

This 14.5 inch strip construction bowl was made from Oceanside 96 glass. Colors were selected based on other pieces of art in the home. Colors include: celadon, peacock green, amazon green, yellow opal, lemongrass, medium blue, pewter opal, pale gray, ivory, mariner blue, alpine blue, turquoise, pale blue and clear.  Six different components were made to use as focal points.  Strips were cut 3/8 inches wide. Once assembled the piece was full fused.  Cold working included use of a tile saw, LAP Grinder and belt sander. Finally the piece was slumped in a 16 inch mold.
