This portrait is painted using fusible water color enamel paint on sheet glass. It required 5 firings in my kiln.
I have done glass portraits in the past by manipulating powdered glass on sheet glass to kilnform the portrait. However this was the first time I tried using fusible watercolor enamel paint for such a detailed picture. I encountered several unexpected issues but the biggest problem was the paint burning completely off during firings, especially the red and orange paint. I had change the color of the sweater and lips due to this problem.
After the final firing the glass portrait was soldered into a stained glass mat and framed. The overall size is about 11" x 14".
The additional photos show some of the portrait process.
