Catch and Release

"Catch and Release' was a theme which challenged local artists in  our small community  to make an original piece of art using any medium.  I created this  monarch butterly by full fusing COE 96 glass with high temp wire loops embedded in the glass.  Then I soldered copper wire embellishments and foiled glass nuggets into an old, recycled net being careful to create a sturdy piece that was structurally sound.  The net was finally mounted into weathered driftwood so it could be displayed outside.
