Wild Horse

We have several bands of wild horses near our property in North Central Washington state, some of which we've gotten to know very well and feed by hand.  This is the 3rd wild horse skull from the area that I've mosaiced and each one has been inspired by one of the horses in this wild herd (9 Wild Horses) that visits our property. My process includes cleaning and repairing the skull, and sometimes painting it to achieve an even color for the non-mosaiced areas. I use vintage jewelry as a focal point, glass tiles for edging, and sheets of glass I cut by hand. I use silicone adhesive to keep the glass in place while it dries. Each of my skulls  includes a dragonfly to represent transformation and rebirth.
