Description:

This panel was designed and created as a memorial for an Air Force Nurse who worked in the Labor & Delivery Ward at Wilford Hall Medical Center on Lackland AFB, TX. She was killed in a tragic accident along with her infant. The panel reflects a mother & baby's first touch, and it hangs at the entrance to the Labor and Delivery Ward at the Medical Center.

Angela, Thanks for your comment. This is one of my favorite designs. The nurses who asked me to design it saw in the panel the representation of the mother and baby who died in the accident at the sunset of their lives. The visitors to the ward see it as a mother and baby at sunrise, symbolizing all that is yet to come for them. Don
