The cross is constructed of streaky brown glass resembling wood. A circle of thick cloud glass adds strength to the piece creating an intense hello of light as the sun catches it.
The face elements were painstakingly whittled from a thin layer copper. Layers of solder are carefully added to the copper, creating the three demential elements that are welded to the panel. The result is a shadowed image when backlit that looks just as amazing when lit from the front.
