Moonlit owl silhouette

0 loves

This is an original design. My inspiration was my love of the night sky.. the moon and nature. This  moonlit scene features an owl perched on a dead tree in silhoutte. The owl and tree silhouette were cut out indivually from selected pieces of black glass with the use of my Gryphon wire saw. I also used the wire saw to cut around the silhouette in the moon . Although it was challenging the result was exactly what I was hoping to achieve.  This piece is framed with 1" oak and measures 18 1/2 X 18 1/2.  The variety of glass I used ranged from Spectrum cobalt blue and white..for the night sky and black for the silhouettes..Bullseye ..white, black and gold streaky for the moon and Uroboros green, gold and cobalt blue for the boarder.
