Cast Glass Bird made with Yellow Bullseye Glass and Copper Feather 'Heart'

Description:

I first created this bird and egg in clay. I then created a casting out of plaster and put that around the clay,  When it cured, I took the clay out and then figured out how much glass it would take to fill the hole made from the clay. I placed the billets of Bullseye in this beautiful yellow inside in the kiln, where the glass melted into the shape you see. This piece has sold. I love the clarity of it. I was really happy that the copper feather floated into the spot where I wanted it.
