First Glass bar melt 2018

2 loves
Description:

This is one of the first pieces I made in a class that I absolutely loved. Made with bullseye glass out of two ten inch glass color bar stacks, then draped over starfire mold. Colors used: petal pink opal, sunflower yellow opal, French vanilla opal, canerry yellow opal, aquamarine transparent, turquoise blue opal, clear tekta. Made in a class taught at the glass pavilion in Toledo Ohio, taught by Laura Eastman Fowler.
I struggle to like most of my work especially my early stuff. I took my first fusing class in 2011, this is one of the last pieces I made before I stopped regularly taking classes and started fusing on my own. Piece was made in summer of 2018. Glass didn't become something I thought I could do on my own until I made this piece. I am left hemiplegic and have no function in my left hand. So score, break, grind, etc with one hand.
