This lamp represents a family farm in Kentucky. The house is near a creek nestled in between the hills. The “wash house” is behind the house and the barn is up the hill and to the right. The family cemetery is up the hill to the left and has head stones for our grandmother, grandfather, mother and father (one headstone for both), uncle and an infant baby. To the right of the house is a well where we used to eagerly draw water as a child when visiting “mamaw and papaw.”
The guitar was found in the garbage but in good shape. The top of the guitar was cut out so that a backlight glass lamp could be created. An old picture of the family farm became an inspiration for the glass work. The LED rope for the backlight was put on the sides of the guitar and are programmable for different intensities. The glass “picture” was framed in came to give it stability to be the new face of the guitar. Though the glass was firmly installed in the guitar, clips were used to make sure the glass is secure. A different scene could be exchanged in the future, if desired.
