Kalli

0 loves
Description:

Kalli was developed as a piece I used as a "demo" for Kaleidoscope of the Arts, an annual art event in Englewood, FL on Historic Dearborn St.   Arts Alliance of Lemon Bay, Englewood Art Center/Ringling College of Art & Design and the Lemon Bay Playhouse all participated in this event with artists of all mediums participating to promote the arts.

Kalli was developed with the use of plaster gauze used over a dog's mask form and mounted on a 16" Medium Density Fiberboard base.  The design was created with stained glass; Antonio Gaudi's Park Guell colorful plafonds as my inspiration for the base design of the three-armed spiral.

Made me giggle.  I love a piece that speaks to it's creativity.  Looks like it would be a great place to hang the dog's leash.  Absolutely a great conversation piece.

Thank you for the compliments on "Kalli".... she was so much fun to create & watch her "come-to-life" as I worked on her.  I have a Golden named Sophie, and she was as much an inspiration as Gaudi was for the design.   Sophie is 'all-girl' and the flowers, the flower on her head and unseen and difficult to photograph are Sophie's 'long' eyelashes.  Kalli has long eyelashes as well.  Rosemary Rizzo
