Gaia Burning

The idea for this came to me last year when California was so horribly ravaged by wild fires. When I was a graduate student many years ago I read a book called “Gaia, a New Look at Life on Earth” in which the author argued that the earth is essentially one large living organism. This piece depicts the earth as a single celled organism floating in space and, tragically, ablaze as a result of human activity.
