Day of the Dead Light

Happy Accident! What to do with the 12" x 12", 1/4" thick, blue glass I picked up on a whim.

First I stenciled and etched the glass with the pattern. It didn't 'pop' enough so I tried backing it with colored paper, which made the glass look purple. Then carefully cut the pattern to match the etching. Finally, using different colors to accentuate the pattern giving the results seen in picture #1.

When I held the panel up to the light so check for 'holes' I saw what you see in picture #2 !!!!!              So I decided to set the glass in a shadow box and back light it with 'fairy lights'.

SOOOOO COOL !
