Yin Yang Koi Fish

Originating in ancient Chinese philosophy, yin and yang is the concept that there exist cosmic principles or forces that are opposite but complementary, which interact, interconnect, support and perpetuate each other. Together they form a dynamic system in which the whole is greater than the interdependent components, and both parts are essential for the cohesion of the whole.  I created this for friends who have been married for nearly 50 years and exemplify this spirit.  

This handcrafted stained glass mosaic captures the effortless grace of koi fish. Their striking silhouettes contrasts beautifully against a sea of individually cut glass pieces in brilliant shades of blues.
