The kowhai is a native New Zealand tree which flowers is December. This window is an original design based on some photos my son took of our Kowhai tree. The assembly of this piece was quite a challenge as when I designed it I had in mind to use zinc came on the two supporting sides. However I was unable to get the zinc from my local glass supplier (I have since found a New Zealand supplier) so I had to think of another way to give the piece strength. In the end I used brass rod from a boat chandlers.
I hope you enjoy looking at it as much as I do.
