Moonlit City

In executing this tac-fuse, the attempt was to ONLY tac-fuse each piece, by carefully monitoring the glass and controlling the time in temperature, to catch the entire kiln-formed composition at exactly the right moment, before any piece of glass slumped (except the 'water wave' strip of glass, which was purposefully slumped to its form) .

This complete composition is an original design by and completely executed by Jeanne Marie Tanks.

This 18"x28" tac-fused panel of a moon-lit city reflected in water is tac-fused Bullseye glass: 1.  12" round thin white irid glass, fused behind clear double-rolled; 2.  thin strips of transparent and transparent-irid glass, in blues, aquas, teals, lavender, plum, clear;      tac-fused on edge,      with a couple strips laid flat to give different levels to the sculptural bas-relief,      adding interest to the city-scape composition; 3.  (1) strip teal glass tac-fused on horizontal across the thin on-edge strips,      causing undulating wave over the protruding bas-relief,      to add to the illusion of edge of city & beginning of water; 4.  multiple champaign bubbles captured in background to simulate silvery star-laden sky; 5.  mounted in 2 1/2" deep silver-leaf frame. (Some glare reflects off large clear glass, which shows white-looking marks on both front & side views.)
