Description:
This is a 100% handmade, handwoven honeysuckle vine and copper flower gathering basket/serving tray. I used a piece of a honeysuckle vine to create the frame of the basket, tying all "stress" areas with copper wire. I then repurposed an old piece of window screening for the base and wired it to the basket with thin copper wire. Copper mesh and scrap dichroic glass were used to create the flower petals and the butterfly. The dragonfly was created using copper mesh and tiger eye stones. This project was my first try at something like this! I had fun making it and I am very pleased with the results! The actual real dragonfly in picture # 3 was too! I modeled the copper one after a dragonfly that looked very similar, couldn't have planned a better picture! :)

I enjoyed reading about your beautiful creation. It's refreshing to see Artists putting new ideas together, especially when natural and/or old items can be pulled into a mixed media project. It does look like you had a lot of fun! Thanks.
