Product Reviews
Pros
I think it works great!
Great on Stained Glass Projects.
Cons
You need to make sure you get your pattern or tape rubbed on really well. The Etch Cream will slip under the edges.

Pros
Graduated mesh sifters are a MUST HAVE if you make your own frit.
Cons
Besides not being a stacking set that can sort in one step, the biggest problem is no catch pan for the final powder. This means repouring each sort into the next container with more airborne glass dust each time. You definitely want to keep the dust mask you were wearing when pounding the frit on during the sifting. Still, it beats trying to poke assorted size holes in the bottom of cottage cheese containers.
Other Thoughts
The mesh sizes don't necessarily match up with commercial sizes. The smallest mesh is super fine, so you might want to sift the batch through whatever sifter you use when applying powders before using the final mesh size.
Pros
This product worked great for my smaller sun catchers and 3-D stained glass projects. I loved the fact that it was bagged, making it easy to store.
Cons
I think the usual caution, when working with lead, should be adhered, since I did notice some residue on my fingers after wrapping my piece.

Pros
They make a very smooth hole in my glass for stringing my windchimes. Thank You!
Cons
They don't last as long as I would like.
Other Thoughts
Since they come in a plastic case, maybe they could be shipped in a padded envelope when that is the only item being shipped. It is very expensive to ship in a big box.
Pros
This fit my iron just right. It works way better than ones I've bought before.
Cons
None
Other Thoughts
I'm happy I purchased it.
Pros
Great way to try the decal patterns without a big cost investment, highly recommend.
Cons
Received a lot on clear as well as most of 1 pattern, would have liked more variety
Other Thoughts
Perhaps sell the scrap packs in all black or all clear
Pros
This fid/burnisher is the only one I've used in 16 years of stained glasswork. Easy to hold, somewhat flexible and just stiff enough to get the job done. Your soldering is only as good as your foiling and this fid is a perfect way to smooth good foil technique. I've never snapped one either!
Cons
Ends turn dark with use and will get scratched up over time but you're working against metal so that should be expected.
Other Thoughts
Burnishing foil leaves a silver cast on the ends of your fid. Take alcohol and a little soaking, then a little scrubbing and they clean up pretty good. They also clean up nicely in the silverware rack in the dishwasher.
Pros
This is a quality, rugged soldering iron that has the heat and the power to make soldering a little easier. It's a good price for a good iron. This iron is part of the starter kit for ALL of my stained glass students and the only one we use in our student area in our glass shop. This iron is easy to handle and the grip stays cool to the touch.
Cons
The black foam-like sleeve will come loose and slide around but a little glue at the coolest end puts it right in its place again. Slightly annoying but does not affect performance.
Other Thoughts
A great iron. Invest in your iron - you get what you pay for. You should buy it to keep it, not to change it out for something else later.
Pros
The foil dispenser is a must have for foiling. It keeps things organized and most important - your foil doesn't twist or run away compared to feeding from the roll on a table or in a bag. All of my students get these as part of our custom startup kit. You only have to buy it once and it's a workbench friend forever!
Cons
May require a quick cleaning now and then with soap and water, or we use alcohol and a q-tip to get the little bit of adhesive from the tape from the inside of the dispenser. Quick and easy to do and keeps foil running smoothly.
Other Thoughts
Pros
Consistently excellent. I'll never buy the cheap stuff again.
Cons
None
Other Thoughts
Always buy in quantities so that you get the price break. If you do copper foil, you'll always need solder!
