  •   Removal of glass

Pros : You can make some nice business card holders with this but they are kind of wide. You have to put a lot of cards in there.
Cons : I have the older one without the flared sides. If your cooled glass sticks, just soak the mold with the stuck glass in a bowl of cool water for about 15 minutes. It comes right off after soaking.

Pros : it makes a nice napkin holder, no problems like the others with removal from the mold as long as you use thinfire paper.
Cons : way to thick for business cards, you have to fill it with about 100 cards or they fall back and look like they don't fit.

  •   Bottle Napkin holder

Pros : I do bottle slumping and wanted to make some napkin holders out of my bottles. The mold worked well with a beer bottle. I didn't have any problems with the bottle sticking to the mold. Was pleased with the product.
Cons : For my purpose of the mold, I will have to raise the mold up off the shelf more. When the bottle slumped over the mold it did hit the kiln shelf.

Pros : Good quality mold. I was successful on the first try. I had no problems with sticking but I fired at a very low temp (1300 degrees).
Cons : I found it was a bit wide as a business card holder.
Other Thoughts : I haven't tried it as a napkin holder yet but I'm sure that will be the ideal use for it.

Pros : This new design---slightly flared at the bottom---is a great improvement in this mold. Mold releases easily and makes a nice finished product. The old design (I purchased my molds in 2008) NEVER released, even when I kiln-washed the mold AND placed a double layer of fiber paper under the glass.
Cons : None
Other Thoughts : Take the added precaution of using a double layer of fiber paper under the glass even though the mold is kiln-washed.

Pros : good size for bus card holder.
Cons : needs to be tweaked so that it curves outward a little down the sides. I always use thinfire to prevent sticking, but the shape of the mold encourages the glass to come in a little on the sides making it very difficult to get off the mold. If the mold was slightly convex, the glass would slip off easily.

Pros : Straight forward, easy to use. Can make lots of different things with a little imagination. I have been making brochure holders in addition to business card holders. USE kiln paper
Cons : The 1st time I used this I had coated with kiln wash as I do all my molds. The glass stuck to the sides and I had to pry it off.
Other Thoughts : Now I use a reusable piece of fiber blanket hanging over the edges on the top where I put my glass. It works like a charm and no more sticking.

Pros : At least it is not expensive
Cons : This mould was a total failure for me. The glass not only slumped, but it almost went in at the bottom, making it very hard to get the glass off the mould. Mine broke first time. Will not be buying a new one to replace it.

Pros : This was my first attempt at anything besides fusing for jewelry. It was a total success! I was sure I would mess up my first attempt. I cannot wait until my show this weekend to see if any customers comment on my new business card holder. I am sure my next attempt will be a little more creative!
Cons : I only have a small kiln, so it fit quite close to the top. Checking the slumping stage has to be very quick to avoid cooling to quickly.
Other Thoughts : If I can do it, you can too!

Cons : If not in kiln the correct direction some of the corners will not slump.
Other Thoughts : Use kiln paper.
