Pros : Papyros is more hearty. I can often reuse this paper 3-4 times if I leave it undisturbed in the kiln.
Cons : None

  •   Nice quality
By on
Pros : Easy to use, can use either side
Cons : None that I can think of
Other Thoughts : This paper is thicker than another brand that is available. You can use either side and there isn’t as much dust when trying to get it off the shelf or glass after firing.

  •   Great Paper
By on
Pros : I can get 2-3 uses out of this shelf paper if it is not disturbed between firings
Cons : be sure to use your safety gear when using shelf paper
Other Thoughts : I save any scraps to utilize for pocket vases and on the edges of molds when there may be an issue with edges.

  •   Love this Stuff
By on
Pros : Lots cleaner to work with. slides right off when it's time to change to a new sheet without powder flying everywhere. Does last through more firings. leaves nice finish on glass.
Cons : none
Other Thoughts : Getting a floor model kiln in a couple weeks to augment my table top. Since it is WAY deeper, it will be nice to not have all the paper dust all over the place to clean out.

  •   papyros paper

Pros : Papyros paper lasts me thru 3, sometimes 4 firings most times. It does not get all powdery.
Cons : It does leave the bottom of the glass a bit rougher than thinfire paper.

  •   WOW What a great product
By on
Pros : I can't believe how many times I could re-use this paper. I was making coasters and I cut the paper a little bigger than each individual coaster. So far I have been able to make four sets of coasters using the same pieces of paper over and over.
Cons : Not exactly sure if this is a con but make sure that you let your project cool to under 150 degrees before removing it from the kiln. I tried taking a project out when it was at about 180 degrees and the paper stuck to the back so I was not able to re-use it. But when I had the patience to wait until it was under 150 degrees, the project just lifted off the paper.
Other Thoughts : Lots of money to be saved with this paper I think.

  •   Paypyros Paper for the WIN!
By on
Pros : Love this stuff; I've been fusing with it for years. It's my GO TO.
Cons : Sometimes I get more texture than I would like but that just goes with kiln work.

  •   Economical AND Works Beautifully
By on
Pros : This paper is great! It doesn't turn to dust, so clean-up is a breeze. I was able to get two full-fuse firings out of one piece...so that's like getting two sheets for the price of one!
Cons : As another reviewer mentioned, if you plan to reuse the paper, be sure to let the glass come down to room temperature before removing the piece from the paper (or at least give it the nudge test...if it moves, you are good to go, if not, let it continue to cool), otherwise the paper will stick to your project. If this happens, it is still easy to remove with some water, but you won't be able to reuse it.

  •   Papyros shelf paper
By on
Pros : Seems to not stick to opaque glass nearly as much as Bullseye. Sheet remains almost intact after normal flring and may possibly survive another firing, though i have not checked. Overall, much less of a mess to work with with less dust flying around after firing (always a good thing!).
Cons : None noted.
