Deep rich color, August 7, 2013 5 stars
Pros
As a transparent color it keeps its color beautifully on light backgrounds. It stays deep and rich over white.
Cons
It can get a little lost in some of the dark opaque colors.
Other Thoughts
When used as the base of a bead it can be very dark and requires light to be able to pass through for the blue to come out.

Beautiful Black, August 7, 2013 5 stars
Pros
Nice glass. It is called transparent but it will only appear to act transparent when mixed with clear. Otherwise it keeps its intense blackness. When mixed with opaque colors it comes through as black.
Cons
When mixed with clear you wonder if it is trying to be purple, but you know it is not. I don't know how else to describe it.
Other Thoughts
I haven't layered it with every glass color so it may have different reactions with others. Many of the transparent colors I have put over the top of the black have been "lost" and you can't tell there was another color there.

Bead Release, August 7, 2013 4 stars
Pros
It works great! It coats the mandrel evenly if mixed well and it performs wonderfully in the flame. It releases the bead afterwards vary easily. It comes in a plastic bag so if any water gets out it will not get on the rest of your order.
Cons
It's black! After it goes through the flame it will become white in the bead but the rest of it is black and it makes a mess if you are not careful. The water will separate every time you use it which I think is common for all bead release but this is a big container so you are very much aware of it. You must mix it well or you will not get a nice coat on your mandrels.
Other Thoughts
The water will evaporate over time so if it starts to flake in the flame you might need to add some more water. Once I tried to tap some of the extra water off the mandrel after coating to create a thinner layer of coating and the beads would not come off the mandrel so make sure you have enough water in the mix.

Beautiful Blue, August 7, 2013 4 stars
Pros
This is a beautiful color! I was amazed at how well it stayed intense when it was layered over white. It actually became more navy rather then being washed out.
Cons
Because it is a transparent color it will change when it is layered over other colors so you must experiment to see what it will become. Also it cools very fast. I have broken beads while still flame working them because the glass cooled so fast.
Other Thoughts
I recommend starting with making a stringer so you can see how fast this glass cools. Get to know it a little bit so you can enjoy all its beauty.
Fireworks 3/32 Mandrels and Bead Rake Set

Fireworks 3/32" Mandrels and Bead Rake Set

Great start, August 7, 2013 5 stars
Pros
The bead rake has both a straight end and a bent end which allows the user to determine which method of holding the rake suites them best. The mandrels are stainless steal which is great because they don't rust. They are nice and straight which helps form a nice round bead.
Cons
These mandrels are a little large. They are almost 1/8" so when you add bead release your hole will be a bit larger. Make sure this is the size hole you want in your bead.
