Purple Premium Opaque 1/4 lb Bundle - 104 COE

Purple Premium Opaque 1/4 lb Bundle - 104 COE

Item# 91254
Purple Opal, August 9, 2013 5 stars
Pros
I like this color and it is a nice rod. The color becomes a little darker then the rod in the flame.
Cons
There is a lot of pink in this rod. I don't know that it is really a bad thing but the opal effect can bring the pink out.

Mixed emotions, August 9, 2013 5 stars
Pros
It is purple which makes it beautiful just because! It can be both opaque and translucent which really makes it interesting.
Cons
When I got the bundle some rods were translucent and some were opaque. The translucent ones can become more opaque depending on flameworking and what it is mixed with. I haven't gotten the opaque ones to become translucent yet but I think they might.
Other Thoughts
This color has it's own personality and I am getting to know it. Over all I like it but you will have to get to know it for yourself.

Best kind of blues, August 9, 2013 5 stars
Pros
Gorgeous set of blue rods. I might not have gotten all these colors individually but I am so glad I was introduced to them because they have become my favorite blues. Includes both transparent and some opaque colors.
Cons
You only get 4 rods of each color so be careful cause you're gonna want more!! :)

Purple and Blue, August 9, 2013 5 stars
Pros
There are a few rods of several colors that blend together very well. They are all transparent. No extremes in the color ranges.
Cons
Includes both blues and purples. The blues were duplicates that I got in the Blue me away set. I would have rather gotten a dark purple. But it is still my favorite color set.
Light Violet Transparent 1/4 Lb Bundle - 104 COE

Almost grape!, August 9, 2013 5 stars
Pros
Mixed with pinks and purples the violet part of its name really comes out. Used with white and other light colors the light and transparent part of its name really comes out. I like using it as the base of a bead and it gives it really deep color.
Cons
Because it is a transparent color it will change appearance depending on what it is with and over.

Transparent Red, August 9, 2013 5 stars
Pros
It is a beautiful transparent red. It comes as an almost clear rod and comes to life under the flame as it turns red.
Cons
I don't know why it comes almost clear but it will turn red in the flame. Some times the very tip will go clear again and if you are placing only a very small amount of glass you might leave clear glass instead of red.

Perlized white, August 9, 2013 1 stars
Pros
Um...it does kind of give a layered white effect.
Cons
It shocks a lot. It separates and looks like white soap. It kind of blisters (forms little tiny bubbles close to the hole) sometimes.
Other Thoughts
I use a fiber blanket to cool my beads. A kiln could be used to pre-heat the rod which might reduce the shocking. Annealing might also help the bubbles. I would be interested to see someone else's comments.

Pink, August 9, 2013 4 stars
Pros
It is a nice light pink.
Cons
I don't like how marbled it is. I wasn't expecting it to be inconsistent in color. Once you get used to that it is fine.
