I bought a kiln from Delphi last November, and this was one of the first things I did. It's about 51/2 inches across.
This is based on a photo of one of our dogs, Bella. With black Bullseye, I cut out the background. Using the photo to make the pattern, I cut pieces of a creamy, wispy glass. I made sure that the "nap" of the glass followed the flow of Bella's fur. The glass was transparent in places, so I thought that the black would show through, and made sure that the transparent areas would correspond with the darker parts of her fur. I tack fused, and was very pleased to see how the two pieces of glass merged. The colors are more realistic than I had expected. I glued tiny pieces of unfused dichro for her eyes. This was very simple, and very satisfying.
