A Wave and a Goldfish Stained Glass Pane

0 loves
Description:

This piece was inspired by The Fisherman and the Golden Fish tale by Alexander Pushkin.

Not a word spoke the goldfish in answer,
It just swished its tail, and in silence
Disappeared in the depths of the ocean.

It was made from orange/gold mottled glass and highly textured blue/white glass. The blue/white glass is so highly textured there is hardly a flat spot. Color streaks are magnificent, and the piece changes amazingly depending on lighting. The panel looks great in a window showing off the glowing mottle but at the same time can be hung on a wall where white and blue contrast in the wave becomes much more dramatic. This is a very colorful, bright piece framed in shiny bevels.

I made this panel using the copper foil or "Tiffany" style method - so no lead came was used. The seams are finished into shiny grey/black color. The panel has two loops on the top and is ready to hang. The dimensions are 21 x 21 inches. I will include 2 feet of zink-plated chain for hanging.

I photographed this panel in different lighting to better display the glass that I used. Glass can look very different under different lighting, color changes can be very drastic. I try to provide photos in various lighting conditions to give people better idea of what my pieces look like.

All my works are my original designs and are handmade - truly OOAK.
