Circular Salvage

I love utilizing repurposed items in my artwork.  Incorporating items once meant for the landfill and giving them new life creates interesting, one of a kind pieces. The base of  "Circular Salvage" utilizes an old car grill found in the woods next to our house.  The previous owner was a huge car buff and remodeled numerous old cars.  Typical of the times, he often just threw unwanted items in the woods.  My boys stumbled on several interesting items one day exploring and I have had great enjoyment working to give them a new purpose.  The mirrors used under the fused glass pieces were created from a large mirror that was broken in two from a house remodel project.  The fused circles utilize System 96 glass and scrap left over from other projects. There are also a few wine bottle bottoms cut out and incorporated in the piece as well
