This 2 paneled glass fusing creation was 1 of 9 artworks which formed "Creative" an exhibition at the Southern Illinois Museum and Artisans Store in Whittington, IL.
Four monarch butterflies float away while flowing over several voids which create the undulations. Each space varies in width and epth creating a succession of wing curves adding visual movement. Multiple layers of fusing glass pieces, powders, and chips create this glass fused artwork. A field of blue violets in the fore panel and a transparent main monarch is based in clear glass adding further depth. The two panels are bracketeed together and when mounted are 20 1/8" wide X 19" high X 2" deep.
