Carnivale Combed Glass Bowl

This colorful 10" round bowl features a center of combed glass. This technique involves heating glass to 1700 degree Fahrenheit in a kiln and manually manipulating the glass with metal rods. The glass is 'combed', causing the colors to combine and swirl - with fascinating and truly unique results!

The highly colorful combed center has been bordered with three layers of glass - the bottom layer is gray, the middle is clear and the top is a complementary light blue. Finally, the outer rim was accentuated with triangles cut from the same colorful glass used in the central combing, giving the bowl some serious 'pop'!
