Solar Flare

When this pendant came out of my kiln, all I could say was WOW!  It is really a stunner.  The textures and the colors are simply amazing, and explode into even more brilliant life when worn in the sunlight.

It is nearly impossible to describe how the hues begin to glow from within, as what initially appears gold and orange on the surface suddenly bursts into a rainbow of magenta, blues, and greens. The glass droplets in the central channel resemble stones and bubbles in the flow of a sunlit river, and reflect the light like a prism as well.

At approximately 1 1/2" x 3/4," this piece is bold and simply stunning to wear, but very comfortable too.  I typically design my pieces organically for both visual and tactile pleasure, and this pendant is no exception.  The glass on the left side is smooth to the touch, while the glass on the right has a slightly rougher texture.  Both are quite pleasing to handle!

The back of the piece is very smooth, and will not snag clothing.  The sturdy, stylish bail is custom-made from Precious Metal Clay to fit this pendant (see more about this material in my shop policies), and has been specially inset to lie flush with the glass, as shown in the photo above.  The back has been permanently signed in silver.
