Summer Birch

The summer birch is achieved with multiple firings in the kiln.  The birch trees themselves are layered giving remarkable depth to the piece.  I  describe it as the birches being "on the glass, in the glass and behind the glass."  The technique to achieve this is both intensive and rewarding.  Copyright Nancy Wadelton
