Faces by Cindy Cage

These faces belong to my granddaughters. I was given this window by their mother and asked to create something abstract in the panes. The details were up to me. I drew a design, chose a rich color scheme, and ordered the glass. In the meantime, I was looking at some photos of the girls and had the idea to do their likenesses. I'd never done portraits in glass but since I approach mosaics as a stained glass artist, I thought I could do it. I kept my original color choices and abstract design but incorporated their profiles into the piece, giving them the art they wanted but also creating an heirloom in the process.
