Southeast Summer

 My first glass piece, completed in-class. Because I chose to be so OCD about every detail I took about 3x longer than everyone else, going past the end of the semester. 

I individually cut most of the large pieces to exactly the shape I wanted them, then grinded to round edges. The volcano pieces were originally one large sheet that i cut into random pieces, then cut to exactly fit together to look like our local Mt. Edgecumbe. 

It is difficult to tell in the photos but the young dancer in the foreground actually has a slightly purple dress.

I made the water mostly out of mirror to reflect how incredibly shiny and smooth the ocean can appear during a sunset like this.
