THE FOUR SEASONS OF JAPAN

0 loves
Description:

A piece of Japanese artistry. Constructed from Spectrun opal glass and Bullseye glass. The center squares were cut out first, then the Japanese characters cut out from black glass. The Japanese characters were layed on top of the white square and fired in a kiln. The heat was raised to 600 degrees centigrade. The black glass melted slightly and fused onto the white glass, giving nice rounded characters, as if they had been painted on with a brush.

The Japanese characters represent the four seasons, from the top, Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter. Each square was then built around with decorative patterns. Each season was then mounted on a royal blue felt backing and framed with a gold frame.
