Elements

An original design representing the five elements (fire, earth, wind, water, and spirit). Of course the spirit shows the unity within all things…that it is everywhere and in all of us. The battle of good and evil in the world is symbolized by the yin yang within the spirit. We all have the knowledge of good and evil (symbolized by the tree of life where the brain would be). The spirit sees the world and cries over the evil he sees. Finally, just as the sun brings life and death to things, we have the power to do the same to others with the use of our words (as symbolized by the sun in place of the spirits mouth). This piece is made with 64 pieces of hand cut and copper foiled stained glass. It was soldered using a mix of 60/40 and 50/50 lead solder left in its natural state. The frame is a wooden window sash salvaged from NOLA; repaired, sanded lightly, and shellacked for protection. 64 Piece 25x34 (approx. framed size)
