I use vitreous glass paints to paint on glass, this a great example of what you can achieve with just black paint using colored glass as your medium. This is the same process used for centuries by glass artists for church windows.
Each leaf is individually hand cut, painted and kiln fired. The branches are black glass. I foil and solder all the pieces together then solder the branches to a clear stained glass back panel. I finish with a clear glass panel over the top. Three layers of glass.
