“Winter Whites” from my “Poplar” series. These poplar trees were modeled after the trees around my house. They are painted with vitreous glass paint and kiln fired, the same mediums and methods used by glass artists for centuries. Each glass tree is individually cut freehand, hand painted and fired. The back glass panel was hand painted in several layers on both sides of the glass, including the rabbit. The trees are then layered and bonded on top of this back panel, with a third clear glass panel over the top. A white mat board backs this piece to making this wall rather than window art. Custom framed. 28.75” x 9.25” including frame.
