Sky Aflame

The design is a glass-on-glass (GOG) mosaic art piece featuring a "sky aflame" with the colors of a beautiful sunrise. The sun is an Uroboros "heads and tails," and the sun's rays are created from several hundred pieces of Uroboros and Youghiogheny art glass (all mottled patterns) and some transparent smalti (reds, oranges and yellows). I do not work from patterns or images, but instead I create my designs as I work, cutting and placing glass as the image "creates itself" on my substrate. Dimensions: H28" x W40" x D1"
